Transitioning from Initiation to Modified Ice Hockey
As players graduate from Initiation, they move into our U7 and U8 Modified Ice Programming. This next step in their hockey journey introduces more structured practices, increased player interaction, and modified game formats designed to match their size, speed, and strength.

Program Details

Season Length: 25 weeks (excluding a 2-week break over Christmas/New Year)

Start & End Dates: Second weekend after Labour Day – Last weekend of March Break

Location: Join Centennials Hockey to play in NSSRC (Midland) or Flames Hockey to play at the PMCC (Penetang)

Ice Sessions Per Week: 2 x 50-minute practices

U7: ~10-12 exhibition games against other centers

U8: Exhibition games in October/November, then 14 games in the GBTLL

No playoffs – Focus on fun and skill development

No offsides, icings, or faceoffs – Keeping the game fast and engaging
